Mrs. Nancy Moran (Nurse Nancy)
I am originally from Morehead, Kentucky. I went to Nursing School right out of high school and became a Registered Nurse (RN). I attended and graduated from Morehead State University. My first nursing job was in Columbus, Ohio. Other states I have worked as an RN are Florida, New Jersey and then of course North Carolina. I have worked Med/Surg, Oncology, ICU/CCU, Open Heart, Day Surgery, OB/GYN, Home Care and now School Nursing. Nursing is a fabulous and most honorable profession that is very near and dear to my heart. I have worked as a school nurse in Onslow County since July 2004. My present schools are Morton Elementary and White Oak High School. I love working with students and their families from Kindergarten through high school graduation since Morton is a feeder school of White Oak.
In my 20s I attended and graduated from the Way College, Rome City, Indiana. I was in a 4 year Christian Leadership training program called The Way Corps. Some of this training was at their other locations in Ohio, Kansas, New Mexico and Colorado. This program was based on the accuracy of God's Word and it changed my life and inspired me in the area of Biblical Research. This is where I met my husband to whom I have been married to since 1985. We have continued with the Biblical teachings and research which we share at our weekly home fellowships.
My wonderful husband's name is David (DJ) Moran. We have two fabulous sons Daniel and Johnathan who both graduated from White Oak High School. We also have an adorable, energetic granddaughter named Paislee Jo who keeps everyone on their toes.
I stayed home from work when my boys were born for about 9 years. This was one of the best decisions of my life. I attended East Carolina University via their online RN to BSN program and graduated in 2004 with my BSN. I am also a Nationally Certified School Nurse and have no desire to retire at this time. I consider myself quite blessed and am very thankful for all that I have been given the privilege to know and do.
I love to cook, (and eat), hiking, walking, camping, (not in a hotel), zip lining, whitewater rafting, reading, traveling, getting to know people, being with my family, getting things done and generally just being alive!
Thank you for the privilege of serving you!
